When things are busy it is normal for me to get stressed out. At times like these I find it useful to check in with what is going well. Here is my list of 5 things I am grateful for right now.
1. All my family is together
Last weekend I moved my son and my two cats into the home I now share with my new husband and his son. To have everyone under the same roof makes it easier to look after them and I don’t worry so much about those who are far away.
2. My job skills are valued
A few weeks ago I made the decision to return to the workforce and have since learned that my skills are in high demand (I help businesses to understand their customers so they can provide products and services that are better suited to market needs).
I am extremely grateful for the career journey I have had that enables me to provide such a sought after service.
3. Spring is here
The days are getting warmer and I can enjoy time walking in the sunshine. Being in Wellington makes it especially good because it is such a pretty city. We have a jewel of a waterfront which is always busy with people enjoying the lunchtime sunshine.
As the locals say, ‘you can’t beat Wellington on a good day’.
4. The garden is pretty
With the arrival of spring comes a burst of colour and pretty flowers. Meals are all the more nourishing when accompanied by such a delightful and enchanting view.
5. Wonderful friends
All of my friends are talented, creative and interesting people. I am grateful that I get to spend time with them. Whether it’s a quick-fire chat over Facebook or a 2-hour deep and meaningful conversation over coffee, every interaction gives me so much goodness.
