I started following a vegan diet in 2014. Prior to that I followed the animal-based diet that I had been raised with. I have had to relearn how to cook. At first everything tasted like dirt but as I became more confident and discovered ingredients that I had never heard of before, my cooking improved and my confidence increased. I am no longer scared to share my food with others (including non-vegans) and get excited when people marvel at the deliciousness of food that doesn’t need animals to make it so.

My vegan approach continues to flow over into other areas of my life as I learn more and more about what it means to be vegan for the animals, the planet, and my health.
